| Art as an Impulse: Reflecting City and Nature in Abstraction At the core of my method is observation. I absorb the pulse of the metropolis with its frantic rhythm, the glints of neon signs, and the geometry of streets seen from the window of a speeding car. And in contrast, the deep, meditative states born from contemplating natural phenomena: the power of the ocean, the fluidity of clouds, the inner glow of wildflowers. My process is always an experiment and a spontaneous transfer of energy onto the canvas. I don't paint from life; I filter impressions through the prism of emotion and transfer them using acrylic, watercolor inks, and oil pastels. These materials allow me to combine control and unpredictability: rich acrylic washes coexist in harmony with the airy transitions of watercolor, while the graphic, confident lines of pastels and inks cut through the layers of paint, creating dynamism and rhythm. A virtuoso line can be born from a single, intuitive movement of the hand, and an unexpected flow of paints can create a unique effect that is impossible to replicate. It is this liveliness and energy of the moment that captivates the eye. My works are visual stories without a single, definitive narrative. They are open to interpretation. I believe a painting is completed not on the canvas, but in the viewer's mind. It becomes a mirror of their inner state. The same composition can seem turbulent and anxious today, yet filled with light and calm tomorrow. The viewer chooses their own perspective, drawing on personal associations and emotions that arise here and now while interacting with the piece. This is a dialogue where there are no right or wrong readings, only a sincere response. |
